The Original Afro-Nubians International (OANI)
Dear friends:
We appreciate you grant us some minutes to read and absorb the contents of this letter that states the social economic condition prevailing among our afro-ethnic nubians within the Republic of Panama and our efforts to improve such a condition.
Throughout the country we have observed afro-nubians living in houses with deficiencies and difficulties in pay the rent, buy food, clothing, school materials and other needs to address the cost of medical expenses and funerals.

Vice President of OANI
On a daily bases we have seen afro-nubian youths in abandon wondering and inducing, themselves in vice and crime to be able to survive such a condition.
An increasing number of school and university graduates still face little exceptions that have overcome this struggle brought down to us by Caribbean and colonial ancestors. That is something we must face.
A true reality is that we believe that we are bound to depend on the United States or the National Government in order to survive economically and socially.
As a general rule, other, ethnic groups make our decisions weather political or economical which affect our survival. After observing these socio-economic conditions so deplorable, what questions comes to mind:
1.- How can afro Nubians in the future those properties or houses of their parents, when they cannot obtain employment or be satisfied with temporary employment that wages are of $200.00 a month?
2.- How can afro-nubians plan for any type of future social security like marriage, raising children, apartment rental, education, food and expenses for retirement or death?
3.- What does the future provide?
A group of us has met on several occasions in the last years in order to discuss and investigate to detail of this problem, we have found that the only unique and effective solution to the problem consist in us uniting and organizing ourselves as afro Nubians all over the country. (One way is to have Panaton here in the Republic of Panama).
We have seen clearly that when uniting and organizing our nubian ethnic afro groups, we will be able to create the numerical force necessary to group our resources of time, energies, talents, knowledge and money to administer them in order to work towards the goals of the improvement of our socio economic conditions.
We will be able then to plan and undertake commercial and industrial enterprises that will provide permanent sources of employment for our people and others, as well as giving us the funding necessary to help solve our many social problems.
Rephrasing the proverb, “The family that prays united, remains united”, we see that if the afro nubians work together, we will build together.
